1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. James Shanks, age on arrival, 18, per Waterloo (2) 1831. Tried 1830, at Dublin, 7 years for House breaking. DOB, 1813. Native place, Dublin Co. Single. Brother Robert Shanks arrived per same ship. Catholic. Stable boy. BURGLARY. James Shanks and Mary M'Evoy were indicted for burglary at Rathmines, in the house of Thomas Lysaght, on the 22d of May last. Guilty—To be transported for seven years. Saunders’s News-Letter, 6 July 1830.
