John SHANLEY was convicted at Dublin (city) in 1836 for stealing meat. 7 year transportation sentence. Sent to Australia, New South Wales per the ship 'Earl Grey'. Aged 21yrs; indoor servant & groom. Native Place: Leitrim, Ireland. 1837: Assigned to William Todhunter in Sydney. 26 Feb 1842: Obtained his Ticket of Leave. Maitland, NSW district.
