Christened 19 November at Denbury Devon. Father Thomas Shapley marriner, mother Sarah. Mother died 1831, father remarried 1833. Siblings Sarah 1822, Thomas 1824, Susannah 1827. The names Thomas (aged 18 1843) and Susannah Shapley (aged 19 1846) appear in the Assizes. Samuel was transported following his 4th apperance ( 1 found not guilty).
