Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. John Sharp, alias Sharpe, age on arrival, 26, per Blenheim I (1) 1834. Tried 1833, at Queens Co, 7 years, for Firearms. Irish White Boy rebel. Former conviction: Flogged. DOB, 1811, native place, Arles parish Queens Co. Single. Catholic. Trade, Labourer farm. Remarks: Whitefoot activities. Spouse: m 1842 Kilcoy Raymond terrace/Hexham district, to Mary Graham (d 1881 as Mary Dougherty) Died 1863 at Ravenswood Singleton.




The Convict Indentures state that John Sharp was 26 years old, Could read: Religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of Queen's County. Convicted in Queen's county on 14 March 1833 for fire arms. He received 7 years with no prior convictions. Physical attributes height 5 feet 1 inch; complexion Sallow; hair brown and eyes hazel. Prisoner number 34-2382. Transport number 151.
