1832: On arrival in VDL, he was listed as 27, single and a labourer. 1841: Granted a Conditional Pardon. 1845: Received his Free Certificate (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-39$init=CON31-1-39p198).


1831, 28 February: Tried and convicted for housebreaking - stealing a watch. He was sentenced to death, commuted to 14 years' transportation (see England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892). 1831, 24 April: Sent to the prison hulk Justitia at Woolwich, and from there for transportation on 10 February 1832. Recorded as 25 years old on arrival at hulk (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
