Bernard Shields was 17 years old when convicted,  he had brown hair hazel eyes, no height given or his original crime. His native place was Belfast, Antrim County.

7/2/1829 The Hobart Town Courier:
Tuesday, January 20.
Bernard Shields and John Baker, convicted of stealing one sheep value 10s. the property of some person unknown, and Henry Armstrong Dimond, of harbouring and maintaining the said John Baker.

20/2/1829 Colonial Times, Hobart:
The following are to suffer to-morrow morning at eight o’clock. — Jno. Baker, Bernard Shields, Daniel Mackie, Daniel Leary, Thomas Rogers, and, George Palmer.”

21/2/1829: Hung.
