Edward Short, indicted for burglariously entering the house of Edward Fearon, and stealing thereout bank notes and other articles to the amount of £150, pleaded Guilty. The prosecutor came up the table and said he would not wish to prosecute, as the prisoner was his (the prosecutor’s) sister’s son. He said that his watch and money, which had been stolen, were in possession of Captain Henry, of the Police. The Court authorised Captain Henry to give up the property to Fearon. Sentence not passed. Newry Telegraph, 11 March 1836.
