Second child of Thomas SHORT (1777-1850) and Helen DEMPSTER (1777-1860) - my Gt Gt Gt Grandparents. Three more of their sons were also transported - Thomas, James & Alexander.

Son of Ellen Dempster and Thomas Short , an iron caster. Robert was born in Montrose, Angus Scotland and pardoned about 1847. Three of his brothers were also transported from Birmingham to Australia. They were James, Thomas and Alexander Short.
