Joshua Simmons was 31 years old when convicted of stealing 40 yards of doeskin, value £5.10.0., the goods of Joseph Bartram and others. Joshua was 5'3 1/2" tall, fair complexion, dark brown hair, blue eyes, can read and write, Jewish. 23/2/1836: Joshua married Catherine Lewis in London, in all they had 11 children. When Joshua was transported there were 5 children, Catherine and the family arrived in Hobart in 1855 and they had 3 more children born in Hobart, some had died in infancy. Joshua became quite prosperous, owning several hotels in Hobart. 13/12/1853: TOL 28/8/1855: CP 6/11/1898: Joshua died in Melville Street, Hobart. Catherine was born 1817 and died in 1888, Hobart.
