Convict Notes
Born 1797 Berwick upon Tweed Northumberland.Obtained ticket of leave in 1840. Moved to queensland in the 1840s and settled in the Logan district south of Brisbane where he had a property called "mungaree".The suburb Slacks Creek is named after him. Prior to his conviction he was a joiner by trade and also an excise officer around Norwich. It was during this time that he was convicted of fraud and sentenced to transportation.Of his wife sarah and six children only his son william joined him later.
