The Royal Admiral was built at Lynn in 1828. Convicts were transported to New South Wales on the Royal Admiral in 1830, 1833, 1835 and to Van Diemen's Land in 1842. 1833 - Ship; Royal Admiral. Commenced fitting as a Convict Transport at Deptford on the 29 March. Surgeon Superintendent [Andrew Henderson] joined on the 3rd April. Guard embarked on the 13th. Sailed on the 17th and anchored in Kingston Barbour near Dublin on the 9th May. 220 convicts embarked on the 16 May 1833 and the ship sailed from Dublin Bay for Sydney on the 4th June and arrived there on the 20 October. Originally embarked with 221 convicts, 5 Died at sea, 1 was Relanded. 11 sick on shore, The convicts were described as 220 such wretchedly debilitated creatures ... Seager Smart, ... sentenced at our county sessions 7 years' transportation each: Salisbury and Winchester Journal, 15 Feb 1830. Leviathan Hulk Records. HO-9-8_6 page 10/54. Received from Fisherton, 11 Feb 1830. Seager Smart, age 20, Felony, Tried 12 Jan 1830, Devizes, 7 years, To NSW 26 June 1830, R. Admiral.

Seager Smart, charged with stealing a breast of mutton, the property of George Frayling, at Calne. Devizes Gazette, 24 Dec 1829 Moreton Bay Register of Convicts Seagar Smart. Royal Admiral 3, Wilts Q.S. 12 jan 1830, stealing meat, 7 yrs, farm lab. Colonial sentence, General Sessions, Parramatta, 28 Jan 1832, stealing a calf, 3 yrs. Sydney, 25 Jun 1835 Seager Smart, lately in the employment of John Warrington as servant, was indicted for a nuisance, in having carried, brought, and deported divers large quantities of dung, ordure, and other filth, in and upon certain land of Her Majesty the Queen, situate and being at Paddington, whereby divers filthy and unwholesome smells] and stenches were caused, and the air was greatly corrupted, infected, and rendered uncomfortable and unwholesome, to the great damage and common nuisance of all the liege subjects of our Lady the Queen, then and being passing and inhabiting, to the evil example of all others in the like case offending, and against the peace of our said Lady the Queen, her crown, and dignity The jury found the defendant guilty, and he was sentenced to pay a fine of £10, or be imprisoned six calendar months in Sydney Gaol. Sydney Morning Herald, 4 Feb 1851 IF this should meet the eye of Henry Robins, native of Calne, in Wiltshire, who arrived in this colony about three years ago, he will hear of his Uncle, Seager Smart, by addressing to Prince street, Sydney; or to BEAMES AND KEELE, merchants, Hunter street, Sydney. Sydney Morning Herald, 5 Oct 1853. Maybe the following case refers to his wife? Water Police Court, Thursday. In the case of Alicia Smart v Seager Smart, for a weekly allowance, the Court awarded 10s. per week and, 4s. 6d. Costs. Empire, (Sydney) 28 June 1856 HINCHCLIFFE—SMART—August 6th, by special license, at Braidwood, by the Rev. Adam Likely, Henry Hinchcliffe, Esq., of that district, to Eliza Jane Smart, daughter of Seager Smart, late of Bega, New South Wales. Sydney Morning Herald, 21 Sept 1865.
