Family connections for Ann (Smith) are: SMITH Ann/e (Smith) was born in 1782. She was tried for stealing ladys clothes of Isabella (Griffith) at Brecon Great Assizes Wales on 20 3 1802, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 5 1804 after a voyage of 6months on EXPERIMENT. She married Robert (Boulton his second marriage) on 3 11 1804 at St Phillips CofE Sydney & produced 12children. She was Free by Servitude by 1814. She died on 23 8 1839 age57. [Some details taken from this Website; where we find 2xEXPERIMENTs arriving in the same month & 2xAnn (Smith)s.] Robert (Boulton) was born on 15 12 1766. He married firstly in England & produced 3children. He was a labourer living at Kemble when tried w/1other for stealing a sheep, on 4 3 1801, with force of arms of Robert (Redway) at New Sarum Wiltshire Assizes on 8 3 1801, sentenced to be hanged reprieved to Life, held on hulks LAUREL in 1801 & CAPTIVITY in 1801/2 & arrived in NSW as a convict without his wife & children on 14 8 1802 after a voyage of 7months on PERSEUS. On 17 8 1810 he had his Ticket of Leave for Toongabba. He was Free by Servitude by 1814. In 1820 he is recorded as a landholder. In 1827 he was issued his Conditional Pardon. He died on 20 7 1837 age70 father of 15children & was buried at St Johns CofE Parramatta. Anne SMITH arrived in Sydney NSW as a convict with a seven year term on board the ship "Experiment". Ann had been tried at Brecon (Wales) Great Sessions on 30 March 1802. Ann was given a 7 year term of transportation for breaking into the house of Isabella Griffith & stealing lady's clothes. (Source: Convict Indent for ship "Experiment" & Transcript of Court Record) On 03/11/1804 at St Phillips C of E, Sydney, NSW she wed convict Robert Bolton/Boulton & the couple had 12 children.
