The convict indentures state that Anne Smith was 26 years old. She could neither read and write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Dublin. She was a children's maid. Anne was convicted of shop lifting at Dublin City on 17 January 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had one prior conviction and served 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 4 feet 10 3/4 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair brown and eyes blue to grey. Transport number 124. Prisoner number 123-38. Comment on indenture number states that brother James Smith, a prisoner, out about 3 years.
