NOTE Elizabeth Smith Convict No. 469 Elizabeth Smith was tried at Warwick on Jan 5th 1841, she was sentenced to seven years, was transported to Tasmania, arriving on 10 October 1841. She was transported on the Garland Grove. She was transported for stealing a gown, she had a previous conviction for stealing a watch. Her gaol report was bad; she was also a widow. The surgeons report of her conduct on the voyage was good. Further report on 11 Feb 1843 was repeated drunkenness for which she received one Month hard Labour. 12 April 1844 3rd class. 4 Nov 1845 ticket of leave. Recommended for conditional pardon 20 Jan 1846 - Approved 8 1846. NOTE Elizabeth Smith No:-469 Trade:- Laundry Maid, Height 4ft 11.25", Age 23, Complexion Pale, Head Oval, Hair, brown, Visage, full.
