Felix Smith was 40 years old when convicted of 'Theft - Habit and repute' according to the National Archives of Scotland. His occupation was listed as a 'Nursery man/Gardener" and he was tried on the 12/9/1817 and sentenced on the 13th. His address was listed as 'a prisoner in Stirling'. March 1822: Overseer at Longbottom - referred to in papers re charges brought against Major Druitt. 31/7/1834: Sydney Herald: - FRIDAY, JULY 25. Felix Smith stood indicted for stealing at Sydney, on the 1st July, one package of tea, and two boxes of cigars, the property of Messrs. Edwards and Hunter. Not Guilty. Listed as a Labourer. 15/9/1846: donated to the Hunter River Irish Relief Fund. NSW BDM have a death in 1853 aged 66, but going by his birth date he would have been 75. The dates are always wrong!
