Tasmanian Record – Description: John Smith, No. 1942. Ploughman, Sherbourn, Berks. Age 26, 5ft 6. dark comp. d. Brown hair and whiskers, d. brown eyes. Small scar centre of upper lip. Conduct Report: Transported for stealing in a dwelling house. Gaol reports- unknown. Hulk report, good. Single. Convicted for Life, London Gaol Delivery, 10 April 1834. Stated this offence, “Housebreaking at the Bell and Crown, Holborn.” Dead – see Memo of P. Supt. 28 Sept 1838. Civil Registration, Tasmania.
