1831, 24 October: Tried for stealing a purse containing 19 sovereigns. He had a previous conviction for housebreaking (6 months' jail). 1832: On arrival in VDL, he was 20, single and a bricklayer. 1838: received his Ticket of Leave for the Bothwell District (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-39$init=CON31-1-39p201).
