Family connections for Joseph (Smith)) are: SMITH Joseph (Smith) was born about 1773. He was tried for forgery at Oxford Assizes Oxfordshire, sentenced to death rprieved to Life, held on hulk RETRIBUTION from 6 7 1803 & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 5 1804 after a voyage of 7months on EXPERIMENT. He had a first relationship with Elizabeth (B/Radshaw) & later married her on 5 3 1810 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He married secondly Elizabeth (???) on 3 6 1811. [Some details taken from this Website] Margaret (Bradshaw) was born about 1784 & became a housemaid. She was tried, as (Radshaw), for theft, on 2 11 1802, of cloak etc of James (Hadland) of Twickenham at Old Bailey on 1 12 1802, sentenced to Life, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 5 1804 after a voyage of 7months on EXPERIMENTalso. She died on 1 1 1811 age27 childbirth & was buried with her baby at Old Sydney Burial Ground (St Phillips CofE?). [Some details taken from this Website] Joseph (Smith) & Margaret (Bradshaw/Redshaw) produced 4children: 1.Joseph (Smith) was born in 1804. 2.Joseph (Smith) was born on 18 1 1807 & baptised on 30 8 1807 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. 3.Louisa (Smith) was born on 25 2 1809 & baptised on 25 12 1809 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. 4.Sarah (Smith) was born on 13 1 1811 & baptised on on 13 1 1811 at St Phillips CofE Sydney.
