Thomas was single, could read, 5'2¾" tall, ruddy complexion, brown hair, hazel light brown eyes, scar on righe temple. Assigned to the Engineers Department. 29/8/1837: Permission to Marry Harriet Owen (Henry Wellesley) She was 24 and on Bond, Thomas was 35 and on Bond - at Sutton Forest. 1837: Married at Church of England Berrima; Bong Bong; Sutton Forest; All Saints (Co. Camden). 18/12/1837: TOL - Allowed to remain in the District of Berrima, on recommendation of the Bong Bong Bench, dated August 1837. 1844: Recommended for a CP. 13/8/1845: CP From a contribution from Margaret Weston on the profile page of George Chaproniere - she states that Thomas Smith disappeared in 1854 and then Harriet changed her name to Margaret Smith. Margaret (Harriet) Smith married George Chaproniere in 1883 and died December 2, 1900 aged 91 years.




Thomas was held on the Hulk "York" in Portsmouth once he got charged.
