Convict Notes
In the night Monday last, two horses, one belong, to Mr. Edwin Poolly and the other to Mr. Pattenden, were stolen from a field in the parish of Boxley. Mr. Poolly pursued the thieves, and overtook them on Wednesday morning, at Romford, in Essex, where they were offering the horses for sale. They were immediatelv taken into custody, and brought to Maidstone on Wednesday night, when they underwent an examination and were fully committed to take their trial at the ensuing Assizes. Their names are Thomas Smith and William Lee, the latter of whom belonged to the noted tribe of gypsies of that name. Kentish Weekly Post, 23 June 1820. William Lee and Thomas.
