William Smith was 22 years old when convicted of stealing 3 lambs. William was Married, 5'7 3/4" tall, fresh complexion, bushy whiskers, brown hair, hazel eyes, slight impediment in speech, could read and write a little. Father: Henry Smith Mother: Ann Maynard 10/6/1827: Married Susan/Susannah Roberts in the Parish of Cattistock, England. Assigned to Lt. William Gunn 1830: Assigned to Mr Parker 1832-33: Gov't Work 1835: TOL 20/2/1841: CP 14/11/1838: Married Ellen Donovan (Hector) 6 children. Ellen was born in 1817 Ireland and died 12/8/1883 aged 67, of old age at Deloraine, under the name of Speight. 18/6/1859: Ellen married John Speight, born 1827, and they had 4 children. John Speight aged 56, Labourer, died 1/11/1883 at the New Norfolk Hospital for the insane, of brain and heart disease and general debility. 17/9/1856: William died at Westbury, a farmer, of disease of the heart.
