Wm.Ā Millington, John Taylor, Benjamin Gartside, and Josiah Smithurst, charged with stealing a large quantity of gold and silver coin, silver plate and other articles, the property of Edmund Shaw, of Lingards, and John Hanson, of Boothroyd. Leeds Intelligencer, 10 March 1817. Two of them (Micklethlwaite & Gartside) were hanged at the last York assizes, and three of them (Millington, Taylor and Smithurst were transported. Leeds Mercury, 31 May 1817.
