Last week were committed to York Castle: William Sneed, labourer, charged with having feloniously stolen one silver Watch, one great coat, one pocket book, and one silk handkerchief, from the lodgings of Wm. Snowden, of Holme, in the East Riding; ... Leeds Intelligencer, 27 Jan 1800. Before the Judge left York, he was pleased to reprieve the following prisoners who had received of death, viz.—… and William Sneed. …. are left for execution. Hull Advertiser, 29 March 1800.

"William Sneed Labourer, committed the 17th January 1800, charged by oath of William Snowden of Holme*, in the East Riding, labourer, with having feloniously stolen and taken away from the lodging of the said William Snowden one silver watch, one great coat, one pocket-book, and one silk handkerchief, the property of the said William Snowden. Guilty, Grand Larceny without benefit of the statute. To be hanged (Reprieved)" *presumably Holme-on-Spalding-Moor
