Convict Notes

Susan Somerfield, part and parcel of the feminine lumber recently imported per Burrel was brought up by a constable, who had found her enjoying her bon repos in the street at midnight. The girl's master deposed that she had been guilty of the abduction of a sweet little puppy which she stole out of a pint pot where he usually took up his lodgings, and if he was restored to his disconsolate owners, he was willing to overlook the rest of her offence. The girl having expressed her contrition for being non compos, and her willingness to hunt through all the cockroach nests in the house for the dear object of their solicitude, was accordingly discharged.
