George South was born in Chalfront, Buckinghamshire, England UK circa 1811/14. to parents: Thomas & Hannah Frost (nee Polliket).  1835 George was tried at Buckinghamshire, Quarter Session. George was sentenced to a term 14 years. He departed 23rd March 1835 on the Convict Ship "MARQUIS OF HUNTLEY". He travelled with a total of 319 other convicts. The Marquis of Huntley arrived in NSW on 5th July 1835. Notes found state he was a Overseer at "Tirranna" now Tirrannaville near Goulburn, NSW Australia. George married at St Peters & Paul, Catholic Church, Goulburn July 27 1853 to one Bridget Frost (Born 1832 County Clare, Ireland, UK). They had the following 13 children: William, George, James, Thomas, Charles, Andrew, Amelia Bridget, Eliza Ann, Emily Alice, Susan, Kate, Rose, Eva May Frances. George died at home in Gundary on June 16, 1901. His Death notice reads he was aged 90, was a very old resident of the district, being in the colony upwards of 80 years. These dates would have made George born in 1811 and sent to Australia aged 24. Also His wife Bridget died 4th September 1885, Gundary NSW, around aged 53.
