In the 1828 Census of New South Wales: [Ref S2088] Rose Sparrow, 65 FS, Mary Ann, 1791, 7 years, Protestant, lodger with Jas. Oliver. Edward Sparrow, 41 Coromandel, 1820, 7 years, lodger with Jas. Oliver of Wilberforce. (I have been unable to identify any relationship between the two 'Sparrows' but Edward could have been a child - left behind in England, when Rose was transported and then subsequently transported himself.

This solemnization of matrimony by Banns between Joseph Hatton and Rosomand Sparrow this 18th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand even hundred and ninety two by me Richard Johnson. Joseph signed the register in the presence of Richard Robinson and John Taylor. The couple were only together for a short time and did not have family. They separated after a so called incident. There was at this time under the care of the surgeon Joseph Hatton, a settler at the Eastern Farms, an elderly man, who had been dangerously stabbed in the belly by his wife, a young woman (named before their marriage Rosamond Sparrow), in a fit of jealousy and passion. On his recovery, he earnestly requested that no punishment might be inflicted on her, but that she might be put away from him.
