Convict Notes
County Sessions. Edward Goodman and William Squelch were found guilty of feloniously stealing a quantity of wearing apparel, the property of William Pinfold, of Fillongley . A former conviction of Goodman, for. horse-stealing (his two years' imprisonment for which, expired only 11 days previous to this robbery) and of Squelch for stealing shirts, were proved.—The CHAIRMAN said, it was only through the leniency of the prosecutor that the prisoners were not indicted capitally, there having in this case been a breaking into the dwelling-house, for which they might have been tried, and perhaps hanged at the Assizes. They were both too dangerous characters to be allowed to continue this country. —Goodman was sentenced to fourteen, and Squelch to seven years' transportation. Leamington Spa Courier, 19 Oct 1833.
