4/4/1828 Cambridge Chronicle and Journal Cambridgeshire, England: SUFFOLK ASSIZES John Gissing was indicted for stealing two sow pigs from Mr. Thomas Girling, of Wrentham, and Stephen Gooding for receiving the same knowing them to have been stolen. Gissing was sentenced to be transported for seven years, and Gooding for fourteen years. No ship found for John Gissing. Stephen Gooding was 48 years old on arrival. Native Place: Suffolk. Stephen was illiterate, married, no children listed, 5'5½" tall, ruddy much pockpitted complexion, brown hair and eyes, tatoos. 1840: TOL Sydney 29/2/1840: TOL Passport - Recommended by W Howe, JP; A Campbell; Lancelot Iredale; Thomas Burdekin; John McGarvie, minister. 1/4/1841: CP 11/10/1842: COF **Possible death - NSW BDM - 1870 Stephen 'Goodin', aged 90, died Sydney.
