Convict Notes
Newcastle Courant Northumberland, England 7 Aug 1790: Jane Stephenson, an old offender, was detected picking pockets, and, on examination, several pocket handkerchiefs were found concealed in her breast. She was immediately taken into custody, and as soon as the trial of Thomas Watson ended, was arraigned, convicted of the fact, and sentenced to seven years transportation. Jane Stephenson was listed as arriving per 'Mary Ann' 1791.
