William Stewardson was convicted at Devon on 29/06/1841 for Larceny from a dwelling house - stealing money from his father. 15yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Tortoise', arriving 19/02/1842. Gaol Report: convicted before Hulk Report: Good Ship Surgeon's Report: orderly Single; aged 18yrs; labourer's clerk; 5'; brown eyes; dk brown hair; fair complexion. Native Place - London 3yrs Probation at Jericho, Tasmania. Had duties as a clerk. Drowned at Launceston 13/12/1847.
