Eleanor Stewart, far stealing a great coat from Jacob Clark, at Armagh, on 6th November ; and also for stealing a basket, and other articles, the property of Jane Morrow, at Newtownhamilton. The prisoner was caught going out of Newtownhamilton by the Police, with a large bundle on her back, which they took from her, and put her into custody, Oa examination, the prosecutor's coat was found in it, and the woman’s basket was left down by the prisoner with the bundle. The coat and basket having been sworn to, the prisoner, in defence, said that she was a dealer in soft goods, and that the bundle in question had been left with her to take care of. The bundle contained shawls, gowns, handkerchiefs, shirts, shifts, flax, pasteboard, & —Guilty. Newry Telegraph, 16 March 1832.
