Mary Stewart was tried under the name of Mary STEWARD in the Old Bailey records. She stole 1 sovereign from John Thompson. Mary had been convicted before. She had served 4 years and 10 months in the Penitentiary at Millbank. She was noisy and often troublesome on the ship's report. Mary was a widow - her real name was Mary Monaghan. She was 5'3" tall, now single, neither read or write, can wash and plain needle. 1843: Married William Butters (Sarah 1837), he would have been 29 years old then and she would have been 42. I could find no children or her death date.
