Richard Stiles was convicted at Kent 01/07/1841 for stealing boots. Convicted twice before. 14yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the'Tortoise', arriving 19/02/1842. b. abt 1818 Brenchley, Kent, England. Father: Edward Mother: Sarah 3 brothers Labourer; 5'3 3/4"; single; 23yrs of age; sallow complexion; dk brown hair; brown eyes; can read; Protestant.
