DEVON ASSIZES. The assizes for the county Devon, held at the Castle of Exeter, which began Monday se’nnight ... The following were then tried and convicted.— Seven had sentence of death passed them, for capital offences, viz John Stoodley, for stealing from Robert Guillaume Lowder, at Maker Barracks, 235l in bank notes; Taunton Courier, 28 March 1811.
Birth and death years are approx. Escaped Australia but was caught in Mauritius and returned. Later gained a Ticket of Leave. Married Isabella Suddis. Lived as self employed farmer at Wiseman's Ferry area, NSW.
