"George Sturgeon snr. was my ggg grandfather, his two sons were George (ggg uncle) and Richard (my gg grandfather). Richard m. Emily Pearson. Their daughter Elizabeth Sturgeon m. John William Barwick (my g grandfather), hence my blood connection to George Sturgeon snr. John and Elizabeth's son, Wilfred John Sturgeon BARWICK (grandfather) m. Margaret Smith Wilson, their youngest daughter Gwen Phyllis Barwick (my mother) m. Terrence Francis Kelly (my father). It is also notable that George Sturgeon jnr. married Elizabeth Barwick, part of my Barwick family tree. Into my 80th year, I started researching almost 30 yrs. ago"

George Sturgeon had one child and his wife was pregnant when he was sent to Tasmania. His 2 sons travelled to Tasmania around 21yrs old and were both very successful-one was killed by a bushranger.
