William was 22 years old, 5’ 9 ½” tall, dark brown hair, dark grey eyes, stout made, single, illiterate, protestant. Mother: Sarah, a farm labourer at native place of Seame, Wiltshire. 3 brothers, Thomas, Joseph and John, with their mother, Robert on board, 1 sister Betsy, married to George Grimm a shoemaker at Melsin near NP. 1832-35 Musters: Assigned to Mr J Thomas. TOL 14/7/1842 or 44: CP Nov. 1843: CP extended to all Australian colonies. 31/3/1853: Steerage passenger, Launceston to Melbourne per ‘Yarra Yarra’ Free By Servitude.
