The humble petition of Edward Swan most respectfully states that Your Excellency’s Petitioner came to this Colony per the ship Pilot in the year 1817 and is now free by servitude. that Your Excellency’s Petitioner having a wish to settle himself in this Colony most humbly hopes your Excellency will be pleased to locate to him such quantity of Land as Your Excellency may consider him deserving of from the recommendations of the undersigned. ....
