Plymouth Quarter Sessions. Susannah Swigg, pleaded guilty to stealing woollen shawl, property of Mary Ann Burt.— Sentence deferred. Western Courier, 10 April 1844. -------------------------------------------------- PLYMOUTH QUARTER SESSIONS. These sessions commenced on Monday last, before W. Howe, Esq., Recorder. ... Susanna Swigg, was charged with stealing, on the 3rd of January, two gowns, the property of the property of William Willis. The articles were missed from the prosecutor's lodging, and were traced to the prisoner, who pawned them.—Guilty. A previous conviction of felony was proved against the prisoner, and she was sentenced to seven years’ transportation. The prisoner, who appeared very much affected during her trial, on hearing her sentence, swooned away, and was carried and was carried from the Court shrieking violently. Western Courier, 16 April 1845. -------------------------------------------------- On Thursday, John Elford Hore, Richard Halfyard, Richard Hunt, Thomas Martin Mutton, John Renfree, Charles Rollings, and Susanna Swigg, the prisoners sentenced to transportation at the last Plymouth Sessions, were removed, order of the Secretary of State, to the prison at Millbank, London, preparatory to their being sent out the country.
