Return of Convicts of the Governor Ready assigned between 1st January 1832 and 31st March 1832 (Sydney Gazette 14 June 1832; 21 June 1832; 28 June 1832; 5 July 1832)..... William Farrant - Stone cutter assigned to William Dumaresq at Hunter River. (A misprint, I think, should read Tarrant/Tarrent, as there was no William Tarrant.)

The Indentures state that William Tarrent was 37 years old. Religion Catholic; status Widowed and was a native of Cork City. He was a stonemason and plaisterer. He was convicted of manslaughter on 5 April 1828 at City Cork and sentenced to life. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes - Height 5 feet 10 1/2 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair dark grey and eyes hazel. Transport number . He was assigned to Engineer Department, Sydney. Received his ticket of leave at Sydney in 1837 (no. 37/253). Lost his T of L in 1841 due to drunkenness, district of Sydney - Government Gazette (GG) dated Friday 20 August 1842. Regained T of L in October 1841 - GG dated 15 October 1841. He received a Conditional Pardon on 20 December 1843 (43/279) GG dated Friday 22 December 1843.
