Aged 45, widowed and with 6 children. Had previously been convicted of a similar offences (uttering forged coins) and imprisoned two years. Used alias Mary Carbutt to avoid disgracing her family. Sent to Van Diemen's Land. Had a ticket of leave by 1843. Was suspected but discharged from a theft in 1847. Fined for being drunk 1849 and received her certificate in August the same year.
