ISLE OF ELY SESSIONS.—Oct. 18. Thomas Taylor was convicted of stealing a great coat, shawl, and a pair of gloves, the property of Wm. Garratt, of Wisbech St. Mary's.—Seven years' transportation. Cambridge Chronicle and Journal, 26 Oct 1827.

MORETON BAY record: 1831, 18 March: Arrived Moreton Bay, per Governor Phillip, having been sentenced to three years in a penal settlement by the Bathurst General Sessions for "absconding, neglect of duty and robbery". His age on arrival is given as 43 (born either 1787 or 1788). 1831, 28 June: He absconded and was at large for 158 days, being returned to Moreton Bay on 3 December 1831 (see Kenneth J Lamb, Canberra 2013, Moreton Bay Convict Runaways database). 1831, 28 December: Thomas TAYLOR died at Moreton Bay. Records show he was aged 44. By cross-referencing with his age on arrival, his birthday was after 18 March and on or before 28 December, making his year of birth 1787 (see New South Wales, Australia, Convict Death Register, 1826-1879). 1831, 30 December: Thomas Taylor was buried (see New South Wales, Australia, Convict Death Register, 1826-1879).
