1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

James Thelwell was convicted at Lancaster on 24/03/1842 for bank robbery, with William Mowbray & King (acquitted) and Bridget Jones (his de facto)of receiving. Bridget was transported to VDL on the 'Margaret' 1843. Stole 2,000 from bank in bank notes and gold. James was transported on the 'Waterloo' from Sheerness. Ship Master Henry Ager. The ship was ship-wrecked near Cape of Good Hope. James drowned. Died 12/08/1842.
