Tasmanian Record. Eleanor Indents : https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON16-1-1$init=CON16-1-1P170 and https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON16-1-1$init=CON16-1-1P171 No 1325. Theodore, age 25, Mason, cut stone, tried at Port Louis Assizes, 27 June 1840, 14 years. Native place, Mauritius, single, Religion : R.C. Transported for Theft. Stated this offence, Stealing wine from my master’s cellar, tried with Edouard Rose the 1st. Per ship Eleanor, arrived 23 April 1841. Father, relations at Port Louis. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Theodore was tried with Edouard Rose. (There were 2 men named Edouard Rose on this ship, hence they are identified in the Tasmanian records by referring to them as 1st and 2nd. )
