Thomas Davenport was listed as 21 years old on arrival. Native Place: London. Thomas was literate, protestant, single, 5'2¼" tall, ruddy complexion, brown hair and eyes, scar right side of chin, man and woman on upper right arm, T J upper left arm, blue ring middle finger of left hand. 21/6/1841: TOL Melbourne - Allowed to remain in the District of Port Phillip. 6/10/1843: TOL - In lieu of 41/1310 dated 21st June 1841, deposed to be lost. 17/9/1846: COF - Cancelled, not being free. 2/2/1847: COF - On Certificate: Port Macquarie 11th Feb. Aged 35.

THOMAS DAVENPORT was indicted for stealing, on the 19th of July , 2 watches, value 4l. 10s.; 6 seals, value 4l. 10s.; 1 watch-key, value 4s., and 2 shoes, value 6s., the goods of Robert Turner , his master . ROBERT TURNER. I am a broker , and live in Friar-street, Blackfriars-road - the prisoner was my shopman for three days. On the 18th of July I went to bed, and had two watches, one on a nail, and one in a bureau drawer, in the room I sleep in - the prisoner slept in the shop; I got up a little before seven o'clock in the morning - he had then absconded, and I missed these articles - the bed-room door had not been locked; I took him four or five days afterwards. FRANCIS HENRY PARKER . I am a pawnbroker. I have a watch, pawned by the prisoner on the 19th of July. Prisoner. Q. Can you swear that I pawned it? A. Yes. JEREMIAH HENRY JOYCE. I am a pawnbroker, and live in the New-road. I have a watch pawned by the prisoner to the best of my knowledge. JOHN SHEPHERD . I am an officer. I took the prisoner, and found the duplicates on him.
