Note. Thomas was tried in 1827, not 1828. Our Calendar contained 75 prisoners, of whom the following had been tried by the conclusion yesterday evening. Death Recorded. ... T. Trigg, for burglary in the house of Mr. W. Mailes, at Woolhope. Hereford Journal, 4 April 1827.
ADM 101/27/51827-1828 Medical and surgical journal of the convict ship Florentia for 23 July 1827 to 14 January 1828 by James Dickson, Surgeon, during which time the said ship was employed on a passage to New South Wales. Folios 1-7: Thomas Trigg, aged 24, Convict; disease or hurt, febris typhus. Put on sick list, 15 August 1827, at Sheerness. Discharged, by order of the Irish Government, at Cork, 12 September. Thomas was originally sent on the Florentia, but was removed to Cork as he was sick with typhoid.
The Australian Convict Indentures state that Thomas Trigg was aged 36 years old. He could neither read nor write; Religion Protestant; Status single and a native of Hereford. He was convicted of house breaking on 4 April 1828 and sentenced to life. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 8 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair dark brown and eyes grey. Transport number 196. Assigned to Mr Thomas Tendall, Bathurst. There are two additional lines of comments for Thomas Trigg. He is that last convict listed for transport on the Governor Ready and is not included in the Lieutenant Governor of Ireland's Warrants. He may have suffered from a fever that delayed his transport.
