4/3/1821 Windsor and Eton Express Berkshire, England: Joseph Cambray and Thomas Trotman were each sentenced transportation for seven years, for breaking into the cellar of George Wheeler, of Buckland, and stealing a quantity of ale and beer. Joseph Cambray was also on the Malabar. Thomas Trotman was listed as 26 years old on arrival in VDL. Born: Brampton/Oxfordshire. Thomas was 5'1¾" tall, brown hair, hazel eyes, married, wife Mary and 2 children. Married Mary Brooks 2/12/1817 in Bampton, Oxford, Eng. 2/5/1826: (Newspaper date) TOL. 27/6/1828: Free Certificate. 24/10/1831: Eliza Trotman born to Thomas and Mary at Hobart Town, - Thomas was listed as a labourer. 26/1/1835 Launceston Advertiser: Appointment to be a Constable. C1838: Moved to Victoria. 14/1/1881: Thomas Trotman died and was buried at the Melbourne Cemetery, Victoria. Mary Brooks Trotman died in 1879.
Thomas was baptized on 22 Sept 1793 therefore born about 20 Sept. When he was convicted and sentenced his occupation was 'shepherd and farmer'(see NSW Aust Convict Ship Muster Rolls and Related Records - 1821). He became s brick maker after he was freed.
