Ann THOMPSON was convicted at the London Gaol Delivery on 15 April 1830 for stealing from the person. Gaol Report: "Not known at Newgate prison before". Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship "Mellish" arriving 23 Sept 1830. Married woman, 1 child. (ref. recorded on her Convict record). Unclear if "Thompson" is her married name, or maiden name. VDL: Work services in the Colony. 1836: Ticket of Leave granted. 29 Jan 1841: Conditional Pardon approved. 12 Dec 1845: Free Certificate issued, conditional that she NOT return to Europe.
