Convict Notes
He was a master mariner aboard the schooner Medora. Thompson was tried at the Old Bailey in London in April 1848. He pleaded guilty to: Stealing, on the high seas, 3 boxes, value 3s., and 600ozs. weight of gold dust, 2,362l.; also, 3 boxes value 3s., and 549ozs. weight of gold dust, 2,161l.; the goods of Macintosh Hutton and another, his masters; to which he pleaded GUILTY.
