ADM 101/48/2 Medical journal of the Manlius, convict ship from 6 June to 17 November 1828 by P M Ternan, surgeon and superintendent, during which time the ship was employed in a voyage to Van Diemen's Land. Folio 14: William Thomson, aged 34, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, fever, slight fever with constipation; put on sick list 11 October 1828, discharged 9 November 1828 well.

William Thompson was listed as being 29 years old on arrival. His native place was Colebrook, Berks. William was 5'8½" tall, brown hair, light hazel eyes, scar back of right arm, single. Father & Mother: George Thompson at Colebrook, a farmer. 1830 Muster: Assigned to Mr. J. Austin 1832 Muster: Assigned to Mr. Soln. Austin. 1833 Muster: Was a Constable. 20/4/1835: William died at H M Colonial hospital and was buried on the 25/4/1835.
