John Thornton was transported for stealing a box and a ferret, from John Randall. 1837: Aged 22, Assigned to George Brooks, Newcastle. 27/11/1839: TOL Maitland. 15/2/1841: Married Mary Baker, 17, (Surrey 1840) at Newcastle. 16/1/1844: Murdered by poisoning by his wife Mary Baker and Joseph Vale (Lord Melville 1830). They were both executed at Maitland gaol on 17/4/1844.
